This course design is to help enhance students’ understanding on the concept of personal and community resilience; and to develop students’ capacity in building personal and community resilience in face of a disaster and adversities. A range of teaching methods will cover including lecture, video watching, interactive discussion and conversation, role-playing etc. Active reading book and academic paper is targeted before and during a class in order to understand a crisis or disaster context, disturbance encountered, and capacity to deal with disturbance, and reaction to disturbance in order to develop resilience.
