Autophagy is an evolutionarily conserved process in which cellular contents are degraded via lysosomes. At present, autophagy is one of the hot topics in biomedical research, with increasing understanding of its molecular mechanisms, biological functions and clinical applications. Thus, this course is designed for both undergraduates (final year) and postgraduate students and the pedagogy includes lectures, tutorials and student presentations, with the following components:
