There will have 4 parts for the course, 1) Knowledge service general progress introduction, with case on a knowledge service system of DRR in the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Science and Technology (IKCEST) under the auspices of UNESCO. 2) Disaster data management, including disaster metadata standard and harvesting technology, data classification, data publication, and data quality control. 3). Disaster information retrieving technologies using disaster big data, including public emotion mining in social media with case on COVID-19 pandemic in China and overseas, flooding mapping using remote sensing and disaster knowledge graph using bibliometric method. 4) DRR knowledge service application in the Belt and Road regions, including environmental degradation in China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor and Geo-hazards detection and risk evaluation in China-Pakistan economic corridor. A platform (http://drr.ikcest.org) will be used as practice in this course. Through the teaching, students can not only learn the frontiers of disaster big data mining application in DRR, but also absorb these ideas and use them in their own major or related fields they are interested in.
