The purpose of this unit falls in twofold: 1) Present the latest research problems and progress in cybersecurity; 2) Train students in terms of research methodology, including how to find essential research problems, conduct effective research, and construct solutions. We will focus on system attack and defense aspects as this is a new battle field compared to cryptograph. We will use the top journal cybersecurity papers from the lecturer as examples for the teaching and learning. We will not only study the research issues in cybersecurity, but more importantly train students how to perform high quality research.
