"This course is designed for students who are strongly motivated to improve their English to a high level and who really want to take action to make it work. The course aims to improve students’ learning strategies to achieve high English competence. To achieve this aim the course has three focuses: 1) the focus on effective ways of learning English; 2) the focus on effective use of internet resources; and 3) the focus on effective ways of learning English vocabulary by using high-quality on-line dictionaries. New ways of learning English and their corresponding learning materials will be demonstrated and practiced. Class participation and discussion are required By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to (1) select some effective ways of learning English to meet their own needs and interests and start their own learning; (2) select and use high-quality internet resources for their English learning; and (3) express their ideas and opinions more fluently and coherently.
