Climate change is being experienced in various types of global and regional scale changes. It is of utmost importance to develop sustainable society while preventing negative impacts of climate change on human society and the ecosystem. However, knowledge related to climate change and development of sustainable society (CCDSS) is relatively complicated and often difficult to learn. Sixteen lectures (each 45 min) will be given via the VooV Meeting Platform. Upon taking the course, the attendees will understand the related basic sciences, vulnerability/impacts assessment, and adaptation of climate change; framework of sustainability, its dimensions and different aspects; and analyses of applicability of fundamental concepts of sustainability at community/regional scales and the associated interactions with environmental, social, cultural, and ethical aspects. The course attendees will learn a new set of skills (e.g., problem solving and critical thinking) to pave a path towards a sustainable future. The course will be offered as per the norms set by Sichuan University for CCDSS subject. Undergraduate students are welcome to take the course in the summer.
