Numerical Analysis with MATLAB and its Applications
"College students in USA take this course in the 3rd year of their 4 year BS degree
program. It is a semester long (16 weeks, 40 hours of lecture) course. I have taught
this course many times in USA.
The course syllabus contains: Fundamentals of MATLAB programming, Solving
System of Linear Equations, Roots of Nonlinear Equations, Curve Fitting and
Interpolation, Numerical Differentiation, Numerical Integration, Solution of
Ordinary Differential Equations: Initial Value Problems (Euler’s method, RungeKutta method) and Boundary Value Problems (Finite Difference method).
Comment: After consulting with the Sichuan university’s faculty members some of
these topics can be omitted from the final offering to fit in the short course"
