The objective of the course is to introduce students to the basic issues involved with fundamentals of image recognition, image analysis and their applications. This course will be mainly focused on linear discriminant functions, Bayes-theory, unsupervised learning, PCA and LDA based feature selections, image feature extraction and deep learning and deep learning- based image recognition, etc. Some basic knowledge on image processing and computer graphics, good programming skills and mathematical background are needed.Once completing the course, the students should have enough background knowledge to conduct research in the related areas.
