Course Description & Objectives:Unlike most economic analysis, Urban and Regional economics focuses on the role of spatial factors in influencing the location of economic activities, such as where people live, work, and play. Through our inquiry we will understand location theory, including how market forces influence the distribution of economic activity across space, how transfer costs and input prices influence firm location decisions, and how market areas determine the optimal distribution of production activities. Course Schedule: June 26-July 7, Mon - Thurs (1.5 hours per meeting) Class Format: Synchronous, in-person course with discussion and application problems.
