The course examines and analyses current global issues affecting tourism, hospitality and leisure industries. Forward and backward linkages are analysed between the various industry sectors and current, social, economic and environmental factors. Relationships and influences between the various industry sectors are also examined. Course Aims The course aims to provide students with an interactive forum to examine and analyse current global issues affecting tourism and the related industries of hospitality, events, sports and leisure. Various issues, events, and trends will be examined with a view to identifying the long-term social, environmental and economic characteristics that are likely to have a bearing on tourism and related industries in the future. Each l;ecture will involve an in-depth analysis of several key themes. Students will have the opportunity to investigate additional trends and issues in their course assessment tasks.
