Mediation is part of the dispute system, which has been used widely around the world. With its Confucius tradition, China emphasizes the application of mediation in resolving disputes on a daily basis. Through several rounds of judicial reforms, China has constructed a Big-Mediation Framework. This is an introductory course to mediation theory and practice. It covers the principles, process, practice and relevant legal issues related to mediation. It will analyze the legal and regulatory aspects of mediation, areas of application and developments of mediation practice in China’s mainland.
