The purpose of the "Visual Culture and Material Culture of Korea" course is to teach students to understand the history of Korean art from the Three Kingdoms period (Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla) to Joseon Dynasty, as well as the main art phenomenon, such as the art of ancient tomb, Buddhist art, scroll painting, sculpture, crafts, architecture and etc. During the teaching process, students are required to have a more comprehensive understanding of the history, society, culture, and customs of Korea, a country close to China, as well as the exchange relationship between ancient China and other East Asian countries through the history of art.
